German cars are as reliable as you think? ~ news car.

- Cars Germany is a very popular and consumer confidence, but long-term reliability of it has not been such a reputation that it brings.

In fact considering the multiple criteria, automobile manufacturing industry of Japan has created a lot of sports cars is extremely interesting as Scion FR-S and Lexus LFA. Both received rave about the driving experience, sharp style and enhanced performance. However, the German car is always formidable competitor.
You may have heard the phrase "German engineering" more than once in your life. There is a misconception that popular phrase is synonymous with high reliability. German car sometimes the engine is designed to provide excellent performance, sometimes technology is extremely advanced and sometimes a combination of both factors. But if not up to Porsche, the German car still can not get the highest results in terms of reliability.
Based on the latest survey by Consumer Reports and JD Power for long term reliability and quality of the original, the German automaker is in a slump rankings. However, although not too confused by the term "technical" customers still preferred the German car brand.
The reputation of Germany
Part of the reason for the misconception about German engineering is because the manufacturer has made the strongest impression. When Consumer Reports began testing the long-term reliability and initial quality index back in 1972, the German brand like VW and Mercedes are top ranked. Even VW Beetle also beat the U.S. domestic vehicles such as Jeep, Pontiac and Mercury.
Some time later, Mercedes and VW has held management positions near the top of the reliability charts. But rivals from Japan did not sit still. In the 80s and 90s, the most reliable cars in the Honda, Toyota, Acura, Infiniti and Lexus.
Declining prestige
At the end of the '90s, Mercedes launched the M-Class SUV is not reliable and the quality of the original brand has fallen sharply since then. Although the forefront of new technologies and engineering practices, this model fails badly.
Automakers are quickly adapt to new technologies, but the process is based on the supply and in many cases, the problem is often seen as power systems, entertainment systems and many other interfaces.
Mercedes reliability has increased slightly in 2011 but remained negligible. The same thing happened to the other fellow competitors such as Audi or BMW. According to the annual report last year, the last time the German brand back on the 2007 average. Since then, all seated below the industry average.
Documentation Survey long-term reliability is reviewed during the three years while the original quality index based on feedback from new car owners from the first month.
Consumer Reports also has a ranking report based automakers average reliability score. According to the report, the average score for the German carmaker in the past five years does not exceed 68/100, lower than the industry average and competitors from Japan. These results are also reflected in indicators by JD Power & Associates. In the last two surveys, the German brand could not keep pace with other luxury cars. Mercedes together with Porsche at 4/5 to assess "better than most", while Audi and BMW averaged only 3/5. VW reduced to 2/5 points. While there is only one manufacturer achieved a perfect score of 5/5, is the Lexus.
Ranking J.D. Power based on consumer surveys. Quality is determined after the initial 90 days of new vehicle purchase. Confidence Index is a survey during the past 12 months based on the evaluation of the original owners of the cars three years old.

Quality is not necessarily all
There are a few reasons completely trivial and irrelevant to the fact that the quality of German cars have a lot of competition in the rankings of J. D. Power in the past.
For example, the German cars are not priced to glass installed over the years. It is not a mechanical defect, but are often recognized as a cause of unhappy buyers in the survey of JD Power and Consumer Reports. However, today most German cars, including Porsche has to glass by the final price, the manufacturers also realize that their customer satisfaction scores put to very low because of the same reasons. The same thing happened with a number of sophisticated technologies and infotainment systems such as the first generation of the BMW iDrive system.
Sacrifice for performance
Along with minor complaints and technological issues, the German automaker also admit that sometimes they just have short strides by focusing on top performance. When you need to cut costs, the region is capable of installing cheap parts will come with a number of tools that customers can not find.
They are easy to cut costs and wherever they can with the hope that customers will not know, they used these suppliers to provide required accessories.
German cars are still very attractive
According to performance research, construction and car design (APEAL) JD Power of satisfaction in owning and controlling a new car based on the evaluation of all cars, Porsche topped the rankings with a score of 5/5. Audi, BMW, Merc and VW are all reaching 4/5 points in this survey. This suggests that these cars are not inferior when it comes to performance and construction.
With the new model 3-series, BMW has arranged beams even higher for sports sedans and the new Porsche 911 has again strengthened the position of the best sports cars in terms of trade in tourism used cars. No surprise that both models will contribute in the finals of the 2012 model.
Despite not winning, but that title still belongs to a German carmakers: VW. In fact, it is the fourth victory of VW in the past five years. The winner was selected based on the aggregate performance, value, safety, environmental responsibility, attractiveness and importance.Obviously there are many reasons to own a car from car manufacturers BMW, Mercedes, Audi or VW, but if reliability is your top concern you, do not be confused by rumors about " German engineering ".
