Germany has set a target 1 million electric vehicles by 2020 ~ news car.

Chancellor Angela Merkel has reaffirmed the target of 1 million electric cars on the streets of Germany circulation at the end of this decade, despite a decline in interest from consumers.

German Government hosted the conference is taking place in the industry 2 days in Berlin to promote electric vehicles, after sales of vehicles just under 3,000 units in 2012. This is a disappointing result in countries where annual sales are over 3 million units.

According to the VDA German Automobile Association, the car industry it plans to invest about U.S. $ 15.52 billion in alternative engines, including electric vehicles, in the next 3-4 years.

Mr Matthias Wissmann was quoted, VDA president noticed that the "electric drive" is no longer a vision but a reality. He said at the end of 2014 there will be at least 16 kin electric vehicles sold in the German market.
