Chevrolet Corvette Stingray safety selected in 2013 Indy 500 Race



- Seventh generation Chevrolet Corvette continues to be chosen as the safety car racing in America's most prestigious.Seventh generation of the Corvette line, the Corvette Stingray will officially participate in the Indy 500 Race, held on May 26, at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, with safety role. This is the Chevrolet Corvette was the 12th race for the most popular American progress since 1978.
"It is an honor when Corvette Stingray was completely new at the Brickyard contributed and continue to inherit the tradition of Chevrolet and Indianapolis 500," said Jim Campbell, vice president in charge of sports cars and high performance vehicles GM Racing, said. The Corvette Stingray selected as the safety car in this prestigious race is part of the extension program partnership between Chevrolet and famous American race, after the return of Chevrolet as a provider Race engine for the Indy 500 in 2012.
Stingray Corvette Pace Car was painted blue tones Laguna Seca, the Indianapolis 500 logo on both sides of the door. The car has not changed compared to the commercial, GM LT1 V8 engine with 6.2-liter, 450-horsepower.
