MINI milestone reached 500,000 vehicles sold in the U.S.


- The number exceeded expectations after 11 years this is the first MINI presence in this market.
According to information posted on Carscoop, just days after the 11th anniversary of MINI launches the U.S. market, the brand of the BMW Group has welcomed owners of the 500,000 th car in this market.
"This milestone is an incredible achievement for MINI, and we are proud to have a lot of customers and they are part of the MINI family," said Jim McDowell, Vice President MINI USA, said. "11 years ago, there are suspicions that a small car can not succeed here, but MINI has proven that small cars can also be successful, bring a sense of happiness when driving, and the car has created a segment entirely. "
When MINI first set foot in the U.S. market in 2002, the company has sold 24 590 vehicles. The figure of 2012 is 66 123 vehicles sold, and the company expects to book also achieved impressive sales in 2013, after the company added Saturday model in the U.S. market, the Cooper paceman, after the Cooper Hardtop, Cooper Clubman, Cooper Convertible, Cooper Countryman, Cooper Coupe and Cooper Roadster.
MINI adds, the company also plans to expand its dealer network in the U.S. market from the current 116 agents, to about 130 dealers by the end of 2013.
