Quarter 1/2013: Audi set sales record

 
Audi has announced the business results you 1/2013 with an increase of 6.8% over the same period last year to 369 500 units, including car sales in March reached 147 700 units, up 3% compared to the same period.

China is the market's largest Audi car with an increase of 14.2% to 102 810 units. The German automaker said the first 3 months of 2013 was the first milestone in the 25 year history of the company in China with sales exceeding 100,000 units.

Model increased sales of Audi A6 in China is the long version with the number 36,489 units, up 36.7% compared to the same period last year. Other models as prerequisite for growth may be completely new A3 Sportback.

In the U.S., sales of Audi cars rose 16%, to 34 186 units, notably the purchasing power surge from both the Q5 and Q7 SUVs. Audi hopes the annual vehicle sales in the U.S. in 2018 will reach 200,000 units.

Although car sales in Europe in March, but down 3.2% quarter ending 1/2013, car sales rose 0.7% to 187,600 units. The Audi's largest market is France, Italy, England and Germany have reduced sales compared with the same period last year, the Russian market has its own level of 15.7% to 8278 units.

Speaking to reporters, the head of Audi, said Luca de Meo said "We want to continue positive sales trends in the following months of 2013".
