GM to invest $ 5.2 billion on Opel

 
GM Chairman and CEO Dan Akerson recently announced plans to invest 4 billion euros ($ 5.2 billion) in the Opel brand in the next 4 years.

Earlier this year, Akerson has denied the rumors about the decision to sell Opel, PSA Peugeot Citroen. At a news conference held at Ducm Akerson said GM "utmost to support growth plans and Opel will invest 4 billion euros ($ 5.2 billion) by 2016.

He did not say any more about the closure of the factory or the measures to Opel to profit after a loss a long time.

Previously, Opel said it would attempt to cut costs by $ 500 million in 2015, and in 4 years, this brand to launch 23 models and 13 new engines. Opel will also focus on the PSA agreement to jointly develop a new vehicle structure.
