BMW has just released a report fiscal year 2012 for the motorcycle segment with revenue of $ 1.93 billion and the number of vehicles sold a record 106,358 vehicles.
Although the increase in both the number of vehicles sold and revenue but profit in 2012 reached $ 11.6 million, lower than the figure of 57.8 million in 2011. The decline is largely due to the sale of the Husqvarna brand for Pierer Industries earlier this year. BMW said it decided to sell Husqvarna to focus on the motorcycle and scooter use traditional electric motor and engine friendly environment.

America continues to be the second largest market for BMW motorcycle segment, just behind Germany. Last year, BMW sales reached 14,465 vehicles in the U.S., including 12,057 BMW and Husqvarna 2408 vehicles, up 20.6 percent compared with the same period in 2011.
Meanwhile, the number of motorcycles sold in Germany is 22,363 vehicles, up 11.7 percent, while France is the third largest market with 11,441 units, up 11.7%.
BMW expects slight growth in 2013 across the world for the motorcycles with engine capacity greater than 500cc.
