Volkswagen recalled 384,000 vehicles due to transmission errors


Europe's largest carmaker Volkswagen will recall 384,181 vehicles sold in China in order to fix the gearbox.

Recall will start from days 02-04 with 21 models including Passat, Sagitar, Golf, Touran and a few other products by the company Volkswagen's Chinese joint venture production with imported products as Audi A3.



VW's decision to withdraw came after China Central Television (CCTV) revealed Volkswagen has used the gearbox does not qualify in some type of car, causing abnormal acceleration and can lead to accidents.

In the notice, Volkswagen or an electronic malfunction may cause the car to lose power while operating.

Estimated repair cost per vehicle from $ 483 to $ 1,610. Thus, the total loss Volkswagen recall this time can be up to 618 million USD.
