Nissan Leaf EV production in China


The Chinese government said that Nissan can produce electric car Leaf in southern Guangdong province.
According to Nissan's joint venture with Dongfeng Motor Group Co partners. can invest 2 billion yuan (322 million dollars) in the project. When in operation, it will have a capacity of 10,000 Leaf vehicles per year and increased to 50,000 after 2015.

China had previously set a target of selling 5 million electric vehicles by 2020. However, this plan was "bankrupt" and the government is studying policies can support and raise funds for hybrid cars and other fuel-efficient vehicles.



Nissan yet to confirm the plan. Currently, the factory car Leaf is located in the U.S. and Japan. According to the Mr. Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Nissan electric vehicles will account for at least 10% market share in 2020.
