Honda the best fuel consumption in 2012


According to the latest report from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the 2012 model average fuel consumption of 9.9 litres/100km, saving a record since 1975.

Three top manufacturers of the level of savings will not come from the U.S. location turn by Honda, Volkswagen and Mazda. Hyundai and Kia even going through the fuel fraud investigations published in some models but still among the most economical brand.

The new standards for fuel consumption will be effective from 2016. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency said that 25% of cars sold meet the criteria above. Head Honda remains with the average fuel consumption of just 8.9 litres/100km, while Chrysler almost the end of the table when the index is 11.4 litres/100km.

Fuel efficiency in 2012 thanks in part to the recovery of the Japanese car manufacturer from the earthquake and tsunami in 2011.
