Battery hybrid capacitors UltraBattery funded by the U.S. government ~ car loan

Electric cars are facing difficult obstacles to overcome to become the main means of transport, such as lithium-ion batteries are expensive and take a long time to charge.

Some scientists find ways to overcome obstacles by developing a new lithium battery 3D, lithium air batteries etc. However, some others to escape by way of developing new technology for the classic lead batteries.

"Advanced Lead Acid Battery Consortium" (Group of Advanced Lead Acid Battery, ALABC), an international organization founded in 1992 to gather battery manufacturing companies to exchange information and support for the project Rechargeable battery research and development. ALABC said the U.S. Department of Energy has decided to finance development projects batteries "UltraBattery".

UltraBattery was developed on the technology of lead-acid batteries, but rather a toxic metallic element lead and heavy with lighter carbon. UltraBattery also contain insulation absorbs nature H2 and O2 produced during charging and power generation. Thus sealing UltraBattery can dry up like a battery gas can not escape toxic lead into the environment. Interwoven with the electrode lead is used as a carbon asymmetric capacitors with ultra fast charging capabilities to eventually provide electricity for the electrolysis electrodes of rechargeable batteries. ALABC not indicate weight and UltraBattery charging time is shortened compared with classic lead batteries and NiMH batteries is how much. However ALABC confirmed with the same capacity in NiMH batteries, UltraBattery cheaper. (NiMH is Nickel-Metal Hydride battery)

UltraBattery technology developed by the organization "Community Health Sciences and Technology Research" (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) Australia's and Japan's Furukawa Battery with East Penn Manufacturing in Lyon, France.

January 5th ALABC said last week, a Honda Civic hybrid is replaced by NiMH batteries UltraBattery completed 160,000 km after 2 years of testing at Millbrook United Kingdom. Don Karne charge the battery switch statement "UltraBattery really make a breakthrough on the old technology. If the terminal manufacturers use lead-carbon batteries instead of NiMH batteries, they will significantly reduce the production cost of hybrid cars. They need to change the look of lead-carbon batteries. "

With the current achievements, UltraBattery can only replace NiMH batteries for hybrid use. To replace the expensive lithium-ion battery is used for EV and Plug-in vehicle, must also continue UltraBattery process research and development.

There are no manufacturers to terminal manufacturers UltraBattery registration but after receiving funding from the U.S. Department of Energy, the situation will change for the U.S. Department of Energy just invested in the technology feasible high .
