Automatic braking system in case of emergency Volvo

unexpected situations by running through the streets or pedestrian level cyclists suddenly turn can cause unpredictable consequences. Driver what to do in this case?

At Geneva Motoshow exhibition 2012 Volvo has introduced external airbag system to protect pedestrians when the car crash. At Geneva Motoshow exhibition ongoing 2013, Volvo has introduced a solution that safety to protect pedestrians and cyclists that brakes automatically when 2 on objects appear near car - that the driver will not be able to react when occurring at a rapid pace.
This system is named "Pedestrian and cyclist Detection-PCD" is the upgrade of the pedestrian detection software. This system uses sensors to detect pedestrians entering the front of the car and automatically activate the brakes when the driver no time to step on the brake pedal. The system is particularly effective unexpected situations to the way of pedestrians or unexpected car first cross bike.

Used dual radar system mounted on the grille to detect objects in front of the car, and calculated moments away. Characteristics of this radar can scan angle helps the system can easily detect pedestrians and bikes even if they are still on the sidewalk. A high-resolution camera mounted in the rearview mirror are used to show the shape of the object can be detected by radar and "monitoring" the movements of objects.

Data from the radar and the camera is sent to the central processor to continuously monitor the traffic situation. The two devices have the task to determine the shape of the objects and whether or not the collision with the car before the red light on the windshield and brake system is activated and the brakes completely.
Volvo to equip this system on the samples V40, S60, V60, XC60, V70, XC70 and S80 of 2013.
