1.9 million Hyundai and Kia vehicles recovered



Hyundai and Kia preparation recovered nearly 1.9 million vehicles in U.S. to fix bugs related to airbags and brake light switch.


According to the agency in charge of American security, fault in causing the brake light switch no brake light when the driver. In addition, the cruise control system does not turn off when the driver hit the brakes.

Specifically, there were 13 cars involved in this recall, including 7 models from Hyundai and Kia brand 6 samples.

 Hyundai will recall 1,059,824 vehicles. The affected models include 2007-2010 Elantra, Accent / Tucson 2007-2009, 2008-2009 Veracruz, Genesis Coupe 2010-2011, 2011 Sonata and Santa Fe 2007-2011. Hyundai began notifying owners when sufficient spare parts, may begin in June.

 In 2009, Hyundai has also recall vehicles due to brake lights error.

Meanwhile, Kia will perform recall 623 658 vehicles, including the 2007-2011 Sorento, Rondo / Sportage 2007-2010, 2010-2011 and Sout Optima 2011. The owner will receive a notice from Kia in May.

In addition, Hyundai Elantra to recall 186 254 vehicles 2011-2013 version, due in part to the frame can be left out when the airbag inflated, and that the vehicle is capable of being hurt.

In Vietnam, many of the cars on the recall also widely sold as Sonata, Elantra, Santa Fe, Tucson ... however, unclear whether these cars are affected or not.
